Kudos to the Oklahoma State Writing Project for hosting the 2012 USN conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Despite the threatening weather it is turning out great. I learned so much about Tulsa history yesterday during a tunnel tour of downtown buildings. This morning's keynote reminded us to connect with our students and talk about issues of race and culture, not hide from them. Mindie Dieu's presentation about using art and writing was inspirational, she effectively reaches her troubled students and gives them a space for their voices to be heard, and develop their writing as well. I am now in a session by Paul Oh on how to create blogs on NWP connect, and all the possibilities of using Connect at our sites. I'm looking forward to exploring the possibilities of using connect at our site, in addition to the e-anthology link.
