Welcome to the NWP Book Group Network,

a place for "bookies," people who love all kinds of books.

Over the past few years, NWP maintained a NWP Book Group Ning as a gathering spot for people to post recommendations, maintain lists, and have occasional online discussions of books. This community is intended to serve those needs and eventually to replace the NWP Book Group Ning.

Leading

Is there a book you would be interested in discussing? Consider facilitating an online discussion. Any member can volunteer to be a discussion facilitator; just let us know by emailing kblinn@nwp.org.

Leading an online discussion is an enjoyable way to connect with others around a book that interests you — and the process is simple. We have some tips and suggestions that can help you get started, but you can bring your own interest and experience to the process too.

Participating

Leaders and facilitators can only get us started. Good discussions are really made by the participants. We welcome individual participants as well as participation by groups such as reading continuity groups at local NWP sites or informal book groups.

Since NWP Book Groups community focuses on reading for enjoyment, our discussions focus on informed exploration of the book at hand. Divergent views are welcome, as are references to reviews or articles that will expand our interest and understanding. (It's especially great if the items are freely available online.)
