As discussed on our call on Monday, there are basically two modal windows for entering info. On some widgets, you'll notice an "Add New Item" link in the lower left of the box. When you click on this link, there's a slightly limited interface. You can still post, say, a blog post, but you won't be able to attach images.

To get the full-featured entry modal where you can attach files, the easiest way is to click on "Add Content" under All Content in the left nav and choose your content type from there.
