It has been a busy month at Willard South Elementary. The fourth graders have been researching cookbooks and websites to find the perfect Superbowl snack. They have written how-to papers and persuasive articles all in the hopes of persuading their classmates to choose their snack for the Superbowl celebration. The competition got greater as students also created commercials to try and persuade their classmates to vote for their snacks. After the snack is selected by the class, the fourth graders will celebrate by making the chosen snack and watching Superbowl Bloopers. What a great way to motivate students to create and write!
Here is a link to what has been happening in our fourth grade classrooms.

Linda -- I love this! I've been thinking about your snacks all day. Ymmmm. And look at those celebrity endorsements! very impressive. :-)
Linda,
This is too much fun and a perfect example of taking advantage of a golden popular culture opportunity! I know I should vote for something healthy, but I love Puppy Chow. If you are taking outside votes, that's mine.
Yummy!
