Summer Session at P2PU
Summer session has begun at P2PU and two study groups, scheduled to run July 9-23, are now open for sign-up. A third study group, Connected Learning with Youth Voices is open and ongoing -- they invite any teacher interested in having students publish online and participate in the connected learning of a social network like YouthVoices.net.
This is a nice opportunity to get involved with a global peer-based community. Check out these courses and other offerings from the P2PU School of Ed.
Curating Our Digital Lives - Register Now -- July 9-23rd
How do you curate the huge volume of information that comprises our daily lives, particularly as it relates to professional knowledge? And how do we help youth do the same for the purpose of personal and academic growth? Join this three-week conversation to share your experiences as we consider curation as an opportunity to gather and annotate as well as publish and share as part of a knowledge-building network.
Making Writing and Literacy Learning Connections - Register Now -- July 9-23rd
If "digital" is how we write, share, and participate today and into the future, what does that mean for the teaching of writing and for learning? Join a National Writing Project study group as we explore these questions together through our own experiences and those of the NWP Digital Is community. Each week we'll focus on a different aspect of inquiry and practice related to writing, teaching and connected learning.
Connected Learning with Youth Voices - Open and ongoing
We welcome any teacher interested in having students publish online and participate in the connected learning of a social network like YouthVoices.net. We are a study group that supports teachers who are beginning to use Youth Voices or who would like to use Youth Voices as a place for their students to post work, comment on their peers' posts, and participate in connected learning on the site. Youth Voices is a school-based social network that was started in 2003 by a group of National Writing Project teachers. We have found that there are many advantages to bringing students together in one site that lives beyond any particular class. If you would like to join this community of teachers, this is the right course for you!
