PARCC also offers a page called In the Classroom which is designed specifically for teachers. The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC)

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium consists of 22 governing and five advisory states and will release assessments for the 2014-15 school year. Smarter Balanced provides a resource page, with various articles and links, and information about Race to the Top.

  • Click here for a link to Smarter Balanced Assessment items:  http://www.smarterbalanced.org/smarter-balanced-assessments/   (Scroll down and download zip files for ELA grades 3-5, ELA grades 6-8 and ELA grades 9-11). There are folders arranged by the "claim about student performance" that the task is supposed to support.  Very confusing...but there are samples there.

Educational Testing Service's Center for K-12 Assessment and Performance Management

Educational Testing Service (ETS) is now working with Smarter Balanced and PARCC on the new systems of assessment through its Center for K-12 Assessment and Performance Management. The K-12 center has created graphic illustrations to explain each of the two systems. (Download the PDF for PARCC or the PDF for Smarter Balanced.) The center also publishes webinars, reports, PowerPoint presentations, and a PDF guide on its work with PARCC and SBAC. You can get an overview on the Common State Assessments page.
